It was foolish of me to start a blog about my new adventure two weeks before I started packing to move to Montana!  However, now that I'm on the road, I'll be posting regularly. My best friend Jeanie and I are on a three-day road trip, destination Kalispell...and today was grand! We left Fort Worth this morning, headed north to Wichita Falls and Amarillo. It took more than five hours to get out of Texas, and I have to say the panhandle was very depressing. It reminded me of that movie, "The Last Picture Show." Ugh. After that, we cut through the northeast corner of New Mexico, and into Colorado. Maggie laid in her doggie hammock in the back seat, constrained by her halter, which she did manage to get out of (how, I'll never know), but with the help of Dr. Josh's relaxing pills, she calmed down. We are now in Pueblo, Colorado, spending the night at a pet-friendly Holiday Inn Express, which is actually quite nice. They have great pillows!  Some photos shot with my iPhone:

    What a great first day! It always seems like you will never get out of Texas heading to the west or northwest. Love road trips! Thanks for taking us along. :)

    I know, it seems like texas goes on forever! Rest well, you guys, and Maggie...keep calm and stay in your harness! It's for your own good! Enjoy the ride.

I'm moving to Montana. To Kalispell, Montana, actually. So much is going on right now that I thought perhaps a new blog would help me out. I've lived in the Dallas area since 2004, and it's time for a change.  2017 is the Year of Adventure for me, and I'm ready for it. My only child and her husband live in Whitefish, and it'll be really nice to live close by. Today I went to the Whitefish Downtown Farmers Market, which is held every Tuesday from 5 until 7:30 pm. Today's was the first market of the season. It was hot outside, but that didn't keep the people away! Lots of laughter, music, dogs, bright colors, kids twirling around, and some very good booths. When it's not such a hot day, I'll bring Maggie. Here's a few snaps.

It's been a weekend of packing procrastination for me. Yesterday, I bought a new car, suitable for Montana winters. It's a Subaru Forester, and it's a nice ride. I miss my sporty little car, but it would've been useless in bad weather. So buying the car took some time, and then I had a nice dinner with the new owner of my house here in Texas. She bought it the end of March, and it worked out well for both of us for me to rent back until I head for Kalispell. Anyway, by the time I got home, it was too late to pack, and I was tired, so, yes, I went to sleep instead. Last year, I purchased watercolor supplies with the thought of taking a couple of classes from my artist friend, Derenda. This morning seemed like the perfect time to sit outside on my patio and have a lesson.  But before that, I made a good breakfast for both of us, with biscuits. By the time the lesson was over, it was already mid-afternoon, so I did pack a few more boxes...emptying the linen clos
